In Feng Shui, items like dreamcatchers, crucifixes, buddha statues, etc. are very important. They should reflect your belief system and be placed appropriately. The best place might be in the Spirituality corner but might also work in your Family/ History spot of the room.

I have know people to place a Virgin Mary statue in their Helpful People corner. Make sure that these items are important to you, not just put up because you happen to have them. You will see them every day and that has an impact on your life.

Remember that all items in our environment should be useful and/ or loved for the joy we recieve from seeing it.

I do Feng Shui consults over the phone? I recently did three different homes this way with very good results. The client sends me a floor plan of the home, photos of particular concerns, and goals they are seeking to achieve. After assessing this material, I set up a phone appointment and we discuss the changes needed.

I also advise clients as to whether they should purchase a property based on the same information. Things like the shape of the house, the location of the leech bed, the distance between homes, the landscape, and possible underground moving water are just some of the considerations we look at.

If you live outside of the greater Albany,NY area; this might be a good option for you to consider. It saves gas, time, and money!

Romance

If you are looking for more romance in your life, make your bedroom a romantic space. That means removing the TV, computer, magazines, and excessive amounts of books. It also means colors that are warm and soothing with spicy accents. Sumptuous bedding that feels good to the touch adds to the tactile response and art work representing matched pairs will create a good feeling. Make sure you have matching bedstands and soft lighting to create the mood you seek!

Mystery Electric Bill

A client recently asked me why the electric bill in her vacant home spiked to triple the norm. She had the place carefully tended to so no one could enter or syphon off electricity. The power company had no explanation. After careful investigation, there was no physical cause found.

I dowsed for ghosts and found some very mischevious ones! They wished to be noticed and this was the way they chose. I sent them on their way and the power bill is back to it’s normal minimum.

Shapes

If you have lots of squares, rectangles and triangles in your environment you may want to consider softening or modifying the energy of that space. To balance the elements and create a better flow of chi, adding circles, ovals, and free flowing shapes will be needed.

For example, if you have a square or rectangular dining room table, you can create a softer, more welcoming space by placing an oval or round rug under the table.

Too many sharp points and angles create a feeling of tension and irritation. Look around your home for ways to modify sharp points and angles.

rainy days

Rainy days and Mondays can get you down. To combat that lethargic feeling, make a list of small tasks that can be completed in 15 minutes or less. Do as many as you can and reward yourself afterward. Tiny tasks add up and help us to feel better about ourselves and will enjoy the nice weather to come even more because we have taken care of little jobs now.

Front doors

The front entrance door creates an important first impression. If your door is dull or shabby, consider painting or replacing it, especially if you are trying to sell your house. A new door invites in the buyer and the return on your investment is 100%!

Wash Windows

I know it sounds like a boring job but the cleaner your windows are, the more chi can enter your home. Natural light is a healthy mood lifter and energizer. Wash them before it becomes too hot and you will be grateful later!

Feng shui says that no more that 1/3 of any horizontal surface should be covered with objects…that means end tables, bed stands, coffee tables, dining tables, shelves and countertops. Even the top of your refrigerator and dressers should not be cluttered with objects. Remember, if you don’t love it or if you don’t use it, get rid of it!
