Would you like to change the way you decorate for the holidays? Some people have the habit of using every possible color …red, gold, silver, green white, purple…you name it!

Facelift

Sunday, October 5th, 2008

Are you considering spiffing up your house in anticipation of the holidays? Good news! They have come out with new paints that have no environmental toxins, no fumes and no negative impact on the environment.

If your are thinking of laying down a wood floor, strongly consider either cork or bamboo. These are safe, long wearing, and a quickly renewable resource. Other materials like hemp and jute can be used for rugs and window treatments. As the seasons change and we lose the green outside, just go green inside with the right materials! Kermit the frog was wrong, it is easy to be green!

Winter warmth

Friday, September 12th, 2008

By using warmer colors, we can create the feeling of a higher temperature. When we decorate for the holidays, we use oranges, golds, and reds. Picture pumpkins, Indian corn, mums in yellows, golds,  warm browns, maple leaves in bright reds, and even the reds of Christmas time! These all make us feel warm, cozy, and satisfied. If you are deciding to lower your thermostat to save money this winter, consider wearing bright reds and golds, add warm cozy colorful throws and pillows to your den and living room to keep you warm when relaxing, and bring in flowers with these colors to keep the life force energy warmed up in your home!
