I recently went on a mushroom safari! Sue VanHook, a Skidmore College professor, spent two hours with a small group showing and telling about fungi. I have a new appeciation for the “fungus amongus”! We even cooked up a golden colored mushroom that is highly prized in gourmet circles. We made spore prints, too.
Sue is working with twp young scientists to find a way of making take-out containers from fungi…talk about biodegradable!
