Insect Protection
With the onset of warm weather, remember that this is when the insects are breeding. If there are places on your property that have standing water, mosquitoes can breed there. Watch carefully for ticks…they are tiny but can deliver Lyme disease. Check your pets carefully after they have been outdoors. Use a fine toothed comb to go through long haired animals. Make sure your pets have flea and tick medicine at all times, not just in the summer. If you or your pet pick up a tick, remove all of it carefully with tweezers and take it to be tested. Check your insect repellent for tick protection and in the woods wear clothing to cover exposed skin.
An ounce of protection is worth a pound of cure.
