The Spirit of Saratoga

Saratoga Racetrack

And how could we forget the Saratoga Racetrack! Even if you aren’t a gambler, you owe it to yourself to spend a day at the track. The horses are beautiful and it is so much fun to watch the people.

And let’s talk about dining! There is every kind of food that you can imagine available in and around Saratoga. The restaurants are too numerous to mention but it is a great culinary adventure to dine out in Saratoga!

Perhaps because of the springs themselves, which have been touted to have healing powers, there are a large number of healers in this area. There are marvelous massages, fabulous spa treatments, and all manner of health care from Reiki to reflexology, yoga to acupuncture, chiropractic to ayurveda. Try something new and see how good you can feel!

Saratoga Battlefield

Visiting the Saratoga Battlefield areas can be very educational for the entire family. Learning about the early history of the United States is rewarding for the kids and so well presented by the hard-working park rangers at the battlefield.

It is also a great place to hike and bike.

Native Americans inhabited the lands for the past 10,000 years! Because of the springs and the large number of rivers to travel on, it was a natural gathering place, trading center, and place to live. Many of the names of local roads, rivers, towns and counties are Indian names for that reason.

Saratoga is close to the Adirondacks and to the tri-city area so you are never too far away from indoor or outdoor activities from boating or sailing on Saratoga Lake to skiing at Gore Mountain. Lake George is a mere 30 minutes away and Lake Placid a mere two hours away.

Saratoga has always attracted creative, open-minded people for all of the above reasons. I have found it a pleasure to spend time there; whether it is for work or leisure and have found many wonderful friends living there. Come and discover some of the treasures Saratoga has to offer!
